The St Johns Youth Baseball Association (SJYBA) is an organization that seeks to provide the youth of the greater St Johns community a place where they can play baseball and softball, have fun with family and friends, and come away with life lessons learned through sports. 2015 marks the start of the 51st year of the SJYBA - what started with 45 boys on 4 teams in 1964, has evolved into 600 kids on over 50 teams in 2014. SJYBA started with games played on one borrowed field, to a facility with it's own clubhouse, concessions, outdoor batting cages, and 5 fenced and groomed fields (2 of which are lighted). SJYBA provides both recreational and competitive leagues for kids in grades pre-K (T-Ball) through 8th grade (boys Baseball and girls Fast-Pitch Softball). SJYBA also offers competitive Travel teams for girls fast-pitch softball and boys baseball, in addition to hosting baseball and softball tournaments, clinics and other events for the community.
The organization is staffed and run strictly by volunteers, for the benefit of the youth of St Johns. We would not be able to provide the opportunities that we do without the continuous and generous support from our trusted Sponsors, and the tremendous amount of hard work, time and effort put in by our volunteers. As with any volunteer organization, we are constantly looking for more help (both volunteers and sponsors) to make every season a success for our kids. As the cold days of winter fade and the warm days of Spring draw near, there are numerous projects and improvements that need to be completed to our facility, in addition to getting the fields ready for the start of the new season.
