Information for 2020 Season

SJYBA 2020 Recreational league guidelines

PONY LEAGUE/BRONCO LEAGUE / BOYS MINOR LEAGUE/ GIRLS MINOR LEAGUE.

  • There would be the potential to require the umpire to be placed elsewhere or further back from normal. We will wait on deciding this in case further changes come.
  • No leading off to reduce fielders and base runner interaction.
  • No stealing home, and potentially no stealing at all.
  • No congregating in the dugout during or after the game.
  • Even more strict enforcement of code of conduct.
  • Players maybe required to sit with family outside of dugout when it’s their team's turn to bat.
  • Only coaches and the on deck batter to be in dugout area.
  • Sportsmanship is highly encouraged but teams will not line up/shake hands before or after the game.
  • We will seek ways to reduce in-game conferences for proximity-sake.

ALL THE GUIDELINES APPLY FOR TEE BALL, BOYS PEWEE AND GIRLS PEWEE. ADDITIONALLY WE HAVE ADDED SOME SAFETY PROTOCOLS.

TBALL, BOYS PEWEE AND GIRLS PEWEE WILL HAVE NO CATCHERS AS AN ADDED SAFETY MEASURE.
RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS NEW INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE

  SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Sharing of equipment is discouraged. Equipment that must be shared should be fully sanitized between uses.
  • Required that each player has their own batting helmet.
  • If you need a helmet SJYBA will provide a helmet for the season.
  • Sharing catching equipment is strongly discouraged.
  • Players will be required to have there own water bottle and encouraged to have there own equipment.
  • We will have a coaches meeting to go over more details that will be relayed by your teams coach.

The goal of having this season is to give kids a chance to play ball instead of sitting out for a whole year. We will encourage a slightly more relaxed environment in games and practices at all levels, recognizing that things are different this year.

We will do our best to have the season run as smooth as possible.

Thanks,

SJYBA
